The purpose of this modification to the original synopsis, dated 8 January 1999, is to change the POC, specify the small business size standard of the solicitation, provide the minimum qualifications for proposed instructors and extend the date to which the solicitation is anticipated to be issued. The POCs are changed to Julie A. H. Gordon (757-443-1457) and Marlene Chambley (757-443-1362). In accordance with FAR 19.102, the small business size standard for SIC 8299 is $5.0 million. One (1) instructor is required to teach the Navy Ergonomics Program Course. The minimum qualifications for instructors of this course are as follows: (a) Instructor(s) must have a four (4) year baccalaureate degree in any of the following: ergonomics, industrial hygiene, occupational safety and health, physical therapy, physiology, anatomy or any related field; AND (b) Instructor(s) must have at least four (4) years of professional experience in ergonomics, or a related field; AND (c) Instructor(s) are required to have aminimum of three (3) years of instructional experience (one (1) year of instructional experience equates to a minimum of 160 hours of classroom training per 12-month period); AND (d) Of the three years of instructional experience, at least one (1) year of aforementioned experience must be in teaching Naval personnel OR Instructors must have at least three (3) years of active duty in the Navy with an honorable discharge.
