The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue on a sole source basis, orders from time to time to Rolls Royce Allison Engine Company for the materials and services necessary to overhaul and repair T56-A-427 turbine engine power sections, gearboxes and torque meters.. Allison Engine Company is the sole manufacturer of the T56-A-427 Turbine Engine for the E-2C aircraft and has a forty year investment in the design, development, production and maintenance of the T56-A-427. Allison Engine Company is the only source with the technical capability and data required to perform overhaul of T56-A-427 aircraft engines and provide product support for these engines, which meet the aircraft specification.
