NASA Langley Research Center plans to issue a IFB for Modifications to the High Bay at Building 1256, Combined Loads Test Facility, (COLTS), West Area, of the NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. The work to be performed includes, but is not limited to the following: -- Demolition of existing Room 105A -- Installation of new vertical storage racks -- Installation of interior metal liner panel and exterior metal siding -- Mechanical demolition work includes removal of existing air handling unit, condensor unit, heaters, and piping -- Installation of new HVAC system -- Electrical work includes power and controls for new HVAC system The order of magnitude for the procurement is $100,000 to $250,000 and the effort shall be completed within 150 calendar days after notice to proceed. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1541 and 17M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about February 8, 1999 with an anticipated offer closingdate of on or about March 8, 1999. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the IFB. Drawings only will be available from the Bid Distribution Office (757) 864-2547. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
