R -- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD CONTRACT ON A SOLE SOURCE BASIS FOR SALES/MARKETING SERVICES DUE 020599 POC Marla Pope, Contracting Officer (202) 305-7312 or e-mail mpope@central.unicor.gov Federal Prison Industries intends to award a sole source contract to Systems 2/90 Inc., 5510 33rd Street, SE, Grand Rapids, MI for the expansion of marketing/sales support for various non modular signage, screen Print Decals, Screen Print Signs, Die Cut Signs and other customer specified custom Sign products manufactured by UNICOR. System 2/90 will be responsible for providing signage sales leads from federal agencies, provide price quotes, negotiate contracts, and follow-up on select completed orders, for the purpose of loading Federal Prison Industries Sign factories. System 2/90 already provides technical, marketing, sales administration, order entry and training support for UNICOR 2/90 Architectural Signage Partnership. UNICOR contemplates the award of a firm fixed price requirements type contract for estimated amount of $3M for the expanded sales/marketing effort . Anticipated award will be made on February 5, 1999. The sales/marketing services is a commercial type service, therefore procedures under the FAR part 12 and 13.6 will be utilized. Interested persons may respond by identifying their capabilities to provide the required sales/marketing services to include descriptive literature. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the date identified above will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
