February 1999, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the
construction of ADMINISTRATIVE FACILITY ADDITION CRWU 982012, BUCKLEY
ANG BASE, COLORADO. Bids will be opened on or about 01 April 1999.
SOLICITATION OF BIDS WILL BE RESTRICTED TO 8A COMPETITIVE BIDDING.
Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work
should contact the Resident Engineer (Eric Peterson), Denver Resident,
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Stop 53, Buckley ANG Base, Aurora, CO
80011-9599, Telephone: (303) 367-0335 or Fax: (303) 367-0357. Site
visits will be allowed on 18 March 1999 and 25 March 1999, both at 1:00
p.m. Notice of intent to attend must be given at least three working
days in advance of the date desired to attend. The work will include
the following: (Approx. quantities) This project consists of a 3414
gross square foot single story addition to the West sides of Building
26, demolition of the interior portion of the existing building and
alterations to the interiors of existing facility. Alteration work
consists of: the removal of Men's shower area in men's toilet area and
the removal of Aluminum door and windows along the west side of the
existing facility. New work includes: office spaces, open office area,
lans room, and mechanical area. Addition and alterations to existing
facility includes: new exterior walls of 8-inch split faced concrete
masonry units outer wythe with steel stud with 5/8-inch gypsum
wallboard finish on the interior side of the exterior wall; new
interior walls of steel stud with gypsum wall board on both sides; new
addition roof consists of steel joist, metal decking, rigid insulation
and EPDM roofing membrane; concrete slab-on-grade for floors; floor
finishes generally consist of carpeting except for the mechanical
equipment room (exposed concrete floor); suspended acoustical ceilings
for open office area; HVAC by central air volume air handling unit;
electrical wiring and lighting (fluorescent fixtures); facility
addition prewired for a new telephone/data system; and new fire alarm
devices. Site work includes new walkways to the main entrance, new
utilities connections to the building, and relocation of existing
lights on the south side of the facility. The estimated construction
cost of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. Contractor's
Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor
will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to
proceed and complete the work 270 calendar days after receipt of Notice
to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case
of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and
payment bonds will be required. The plans and specifications are
available on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge.
It has been determined that the number of Compact Disks be limited to
one (1) per firm. Plans and Specifications will not be provided in a
printed hard copy format. Contractors may view and/or download or
register their company or print out planholders lists from the Internet
