The Naval Inventory Control Point-Mechanicsburg is attempting to identify additional sources for the manufacture of Type I and Type II Spiral Wound Metallic-Flexible Graphite Gaskets. These gaskets are used in applications for a ship's nuclear reactor and must conform to the following Military Specification: MIL-G-24716, Amendment 1, Gaskets, Metallic-Flexible Graphite, Spiral Wound. The following Military Specification and Standard also apply to this requirement: MIL-P-24503, Packing Material, Graphite Corrugated Ribbon or Textured Tape and Preformed Ring, MIL-STD-129, Revision H(Notices 1-4), Marking for Shipment and Storage.
