labor and materials to perform dry dock and repairs for USCGC POINT
HOBART (WPB 82377), an 82' patrol boat, home moorage Oceanside,
California. All work will be performed at the contractor's facility
during the period of 03 May 1999 and completing 11 June 1999. Work
items to include: engine room hull plating, hull plate and bilge,
inspection and preservation, ultrasonic hull thickness, underwater body
inspection, fuel oil tank cleaning and inspection, sewage tank cleaning
and inspection, pilot house fan room deck renewal, data couple repair,
heat exchanger cleaning and testing, electric motor overhaul, electric
meter calibration, ventilation duct cleaning and exhaust ventilation
ducting renewal, engine room supply fan renewal, sea valve overhaul,
steering cable and hydraulic booster system inspection and overhaul,
boat boom overhaul, potable water tank preservation, mast preservation,
underwater body preservation (partial), temporary services, dry
docking/hauling. The solicitation is issued in accordance with the
Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. All responsive
sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by this agency. For
Women-Owned and Disadvantage Business Enterprises, the Department of
Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short-term working capital
assistance for transportation related contracts. Loans are available
under the DOT Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest
rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of
