States Property and Fiscal Office for Missouri (USPFO-MO) is conducting
a market survey to determine interest in the removal, purchase and
recycling of scrap metal located at 17 locations in the state of
Missouri. The project is to remove and transport scrap metal from the
National Guard Facilities for the plurpose of recycling. Scrap metal
will be moved on a scheduled basis. Material to be removed for
recycling will include, but not limited to : light steel, heavy steel,
cast iron, aluminum, mixed metals, brass (from ammunititon sources and
other), and used oil and fuel filters (the oil and fuel filters will
either be drained and crushed or drained and not crushed). For the
brass from the ammunition sources, the purchasers are cautioned that
articles or substances of a dangerous nature may remain in the property
regardless of the care exercised to remove same. The Government will
assume no liability for damages to property of the purchasers or for
personal injurty, disability or death of the purchaser, its employees,
or to any other plerson arising from or affiliated with the purchase,
use or dispositions of this material. The purchaser shall hold the
Government harmless from any and all such demands, suits, actions or
claims arising from or otherwise relating to the purchase of this
material. If it is determined that the Government will issue a
solicitation on this requirement, there will be an "economic price
adjustment clause" in the solicitation. The approximate total amount of
scrap material to be removed annuall from all Missouri locations is
48,500 pounds. The Government has an estimated 30,000 pounds currently
on hand that will need to be removed on the initial service. This
sources souight is for information and planning purposes only. It does
not consistute a solicitation and is not to be construed as a
commitment by the Government. Interested sources should provide a type
written letter stating that they can meet the minimum needs, along
with the company name, address, telephone number, fax number, 3-mail
address and point of contact. Responses are due no later than 16
