The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a Logistics Support Package for the NP2000 propeller system of the E-2C aircraft. This logistics package will consist of organizational level technical manuals, organizational level support equipment, a training program for Navy trainers, and provisioning data and conferences in support of Navy procurement of Lowest Replaceable Units (LRUs). The award of the contract for the procurement of these services will be entered into with the Hamilton Standard Division of United Technologies Corporation, Windsor Locks, CT 06096-1010. Hamilton Standard is the sole source designer, developer and manufacturer of the propeller (part number NP-2000) for the E-2C aircraft and is the only source with the requisite technical data to accomplish this effort. The U.S. Navy does not possess all the technical data necessary for a new source to meet all the logistical requirements. The propeller control is a proprietary design of Hamilton Standard.
