This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is Request for Proposal N66604-99-R-0839. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-10. This acquisition is a 100% set-aside for small business. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 3572; the size standard is 1000 employees. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island(NUWCDIVNPT)intends to purchase five (5) RAID-I/O FLYER II DISK STORAGE DEVICES, P/N RFII-6006/100800-EXT on a Brand Name or Equal basis. The minimum system characteristic/performance specification requirements are: (1) 100 Gbyte disk space (before decrement of "hot swap" unit, (2) 16Mbyte cache minimum, (3) ultra wide or ultra fast wide SCSI interface with the host computer system,(4) external cabinets with redundant power supplies,(5) fail over "hot swap" disks, (6) HP-UX compatible, (7) cables and terminators, (8) data rebuild capacity and (9) three year warranty. Provide supporting evidence with proposal. Delivery shall be F.O.B. Destination to NUWCDIVNPT, Newport, Rhode Island by 19 February 1999.
