The Government intends to purchase, on an all or none sole source basis, the following Seagate disk drives and Kingston related items: (1) P/N ST34573N Seagate 4GB Narrow SCSI Hard Disk Drive with HP Firmware (100 each); (2) P/N DE100I-CS Kingston 3.5 inch SCSI Carrier (100 each); (3) Kingston P/N DE100I-A 5.25 inch IDE FRAME & CARRIER (11 each); (4) P/N ST36531A Seagate 6.5GB EIDE Hard Drive with HP Firmware (11 each); (5) Kingston P/N DE100I-SWC 3.5 inch 80 pin wide connect frame and carrier (17 each); (6) Kingston P/N DS100-S4W Ext 4 Bay SCSI Wide Cabinet (3 each); (7) P/N SCSI3-6 6 foot external SCI cable (3 each); (8) Integration of hard drives into frame, carriers and ext cabinets (1 each); (9) Full Manufacturer Warranty of all products (1 each). The HP Firmware shall be installed into the drives prior to shipping by the contractor. The HP Firmware is a software code that allows the HP System running HP Unix to see the drive. Without this Firmware Revision on the drives, the Unix OS will not boot up causing a system failure. This code is written within the first sectors of the Hard Drive so it can be recognized as a HP Bootable Hard Drive upon the initial Boot up Cycle in Unix. The requested Seagate disk drives with HP Firmware and Kingston equipment will be utilized to support configuration management and fleet deliveries of the AEGIS Baseline 6P1 Q-70computer programs. The AEGIS Computer Center (ACC) mission is to provide the facilities and support infrastructure required to support AEGIS computer program lifecycle support engineering (LSE) for AEGIS class Cruisers and Destroyers. LSE includes maintaining, updating, delivering and installing AEGIS computer programs. To support this delivery of AEGIS computer programs to the AEGIS fleet and other AEGIS landbased test sites, the ACC utilizes the Seagate disk drives to support the production processes. This equipment is needed to maintain compatibility (equipment and applications) with the AEGIS fleet to ensure the ACC can support its lifecycle support engineering mission and deliver quality AEGIS computer programs to the fleet. Contractors must provide written documentation to verify they are authorized to provide these drives with the HP Firmware. This synopsis/solicitation will be awarded utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. All responding vendors must provide their CAGE Code, Duns and Bradstreet number, Tax Identification number and must be registered in the Central Contractor's Registration Data Base.
