Description: This project is intended to decontaminate, demolish, and
remove approxinately 17 WWII-era buildings of various sizes, which are
located at Longhorn Army Ammunition Plant. Some (or all) of the
buildings may contain contaminates which may include (but are not
limited to) friable and nonfriable type of asbestos containing
materials, lead based paints, heavy metals, and explosives. It is the
Government's intent to eventaully transfer ownership of the real estate
to others; therefore, project completion shall render the work-site
free of tripping hazards or other perils. Clean concrete floor slabs
may remain, but any excavations, pits, or trenches shall be filled and
stabilized in the most economical manner. Disposal of construction
rubble is the responsibility of the contractor and may be disposed of
either off-site or by reopening an on-site construction landfill. All
costs associated with reopening and then closing the on-site landfill
shall be the responsibility of the contractor. The contractor shall
maintain full responsiblity for compliance with all applicable federal,
State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to this demolition and
