R -- HUMAN FACTORS SUPPORT FOR DRIVER/VEHICLE INTERFACE SOL DTNH22-99-R-07005 DUE 040199 POC Joseph Comella, Contract Specialist, (202) 366-9568, FAX (202) 366-9555 The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA) is soliciting proposals for human factors support for driver/vehicle interface research in order to evaluate vehicle-based crash countermeasures. The offeror is to provide all necessary personnel, equipment and facilities to plan, conduct, and document studies as assigned. The offeror is to evaluate various vehicle systems in terms of driver behavior and performance using experiments in laboratory setting, driving simulator, test track and/or public roads. The studies will support NHTSA in the advancing of new in-vehicle technologies, the identifying of potential safety problems, the evaluating of regulatory options, and assuring public safety. The Government contemplates awarding an Indefinite Delivery/ Indefinite Quantity task order type contract for a base period of three years with two one-year options for a total of five years. Award will be made to a single offeror whose proposal is technically acceptable and offers the best value to the Government. For this notice, a firm will be considered small business under SIC 8711 (Engineering Services) with a size standard of $2.5 million in annual receipts.
