66-1(5), WEST FORK BITTERROOT RIVER ROAD, Bitterroot National Forest,
Ravalli County, Montana. The project consists of 9.795 miles of paving,
guardrail removal and replacing, signing and striping. Project
includes: construction survey & staking; contractor sampling & testing;
construction schedules; 24,000 tons hot asphalt concrete pavement; 104
tons asphalt prime coat; 42 tons asphalt tack coat; 3,050 tons
shoulder gravel; 500 ln ft silt fence; 14,200 ln ft removal & reinstall
guardrail; 1,500 hrs flagger; 200 hrs pilot car; 274,000 ln ft
permanent pavement markings; and other smaller items of work. This
project is located approximately 24 miles southwest of Darby, Montana.
Work shall be completed by 8-13-99. Estimated price range is between
$1,000,000 and $2,500,000. Presolicitation Notices are being provided
to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the
publication of this synopsis. The following applies only to Minority,
Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs): The
Department of Transportation (DOT), offers working capital financing
and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. DOT's
Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment
bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short-Term Lending Program
(STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum
