O'Guin This is an Architectual and Engineering project for Regional
Bridge Engineering Service. The contract shall provide complete bridge
engineering services for Forest Service bridges within Region 2. The
anticipated engineering disciplines shall include, but not be limited
to, structural bridge engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydraulic
engineering, civil engineering, and mapping/surveying. The initial
services shall consist of completing preliminary engineering for
several structurally deficient bridges located within Region 2. The
preliminary engineering shall evaluate options that would repair or
replace the structurally deficient bridges in the most cost effective
way. The evaluations shall consist of, but not limited to, evaluating
and reporting options, providing associated cost estimates, performing
and reporting applicable investigations, performing applicable
analyzes, mapping and design surveys and providing preliminary design
drawings in half size hardcopy and the most recent AutoCAD electronic
format, unless otherwise specified. This contract can also include
services to prepare final design contract packages and cost estimates,
as well as, other further bridge engineering services that would be
specified at a later date. Region 2 bridges are located in the States
of Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota and Nebraska. Estimated contract
effective date is May 1999. Term of the contract is one year, with
possibly four (4) one year options. In accordance with Far 36.602-1,
the following criteria will be used in the evaluation of firms.
(1)Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance
of required services. (2) Specialized experience and technical
competence in the type of work required, including, where appropriate,
experience in energy conservation, pollution prevention, waste
reduction, and the use of recovered materials. (3) Capacity to
accomplish the work in the required time. (4) Past performance on
contract with Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost
control, quality of work and compliance with performance schedules. (5)
Location in the general geographical area of the project and knowledge
of the locality of the project; provided, that application of this
criterion leaves an appropriate number of qualified firms, given the
nature and size of the project. Firms interested in this solicitation
