Nondeployable Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)
Calibration and Repair Support(C&RS)Function. The U.S. Army Aviation
and Missile Command (AMCOM)intends to release Draft Request for
Proposal (DRFP) DAAH01-99-R-0006 on or about 2 March 1999. This A-76
Cost Comparison Study will evaluate the cost effectiveness of
conversion of the existing Government C&RS mission to a contracted out
mission. The C&RS effort is currently performed at approximately 48
fixed sites and associated mobile sites, and provides C&RS for
approximately 450,000 pieces of Army and other customer TMDE. This
draft solicitation is to solicit industry comments regarding the
Performance Work Statement (PWS), data requirements, evaluation
factors, and special instructions contained in the DRFP. The proposed
acquisition will be issued utilizing full and open competitive
procedures. The Standard Classification (SIC)Code for this acquisition
is 7629, size standard $5 million. The anticipated contract type is
Firm-Fixed Price. A determination by the Government not to contract out
this requirement, is solely within the discretion of the Government, in
accordance with the A-76 regulations. The Government will not pay for
any effort expended in responding to this notice. The estimated award
