The project work for Reach 1 Backfill consists of mobilization and demobilization; clearing and grubbing approximately 1,210 acres; filling 40,000 linear feet of Canal C-38 and degrading adjacent spoil berms (Approximately 10,725,800 cubic yards of material); demolishing Structure S-65B spillway, lock and control house; and degrading 6,600 linear feet of tieback levees (Approximately 81,900 cubic yards of material). Work also includes the excavation of two oxbow channels (Approximately 225,100 cubic yards of material) and the construction of a hardened plug with approximately 5,000 tons of stone protection at the south end. The project work for Pool B Local levee Modifications consists of degrading levees and spreading levee material onsite. There are two areas: Area B1 and Area B10. Degrading work at Area B1 will degrade about 6,000 linear feet of levees and spread about 50,000 cubic yards of material. Degrading work at Area B10 will degrade about 30,000 linear feet of levees and spread about 245,000 cubic yards of material. Clearing and grubbing is also required. Equipment needed would include, but not be limited to the following: Hydraulic dredge(s) with pipeline, barge(s), bulldozer(s), backhoe(s), truck(s), and heavy construction equipment for pipeline placement and disposal area/dike construction. Estimated contract duration is 540 calendar days. Magnitude of construction is over $10,000,000.00. Pre-Solicitation Notice was issued 15 Jan 99.
