J -- MODIFICATION, POTENTIAL SOURCES SOUGHT FOR RADOME SUPPLIES/SERVICES SOL 52RANW900016 DUE 021699 POC Doug Hargrove, 303.497.3657 The synopsis indicating the Government's intent to contract with ESSCO for radome maintenance, repair, and engineering services which was published in the CBD issue dated January 22, 1999 is amended to add the following language in an effort to more thoroughly describe the requirement. The contract will include installation, engineering evaluation services, baseline engineering data and change proposal services. Perform corrective maintenance and catastrophic failure replacement (25%), to provide radome supplies and materials (50%), to conduct engineering design evaluation and investigations (18.75%), and to obtain current engineering drawings, specifications, and data (6.25%) from the original equipment manufacturer for support of the WSR-88D Radome, Model S38-90, part number 8531-1, and its subsystems. In addition, supplies and materials only may be ordered for delivery to the NWS warehouse facility in Kansas City. Because some sites are only accessible due to weather conditions for a short period oftime, supplies and materials must be delivered and work must be completed within 30 days of contract task order. Finally, potential sources are advised that ESSCO also owns all of the manufacturing processes and engineering design data required to properly assess structural integrity during engineering investigations and evaluations. ESSCO owns the WSR-88D radome engineering design and as such is the only manufacturer of the supplies/materials and engineering data required to maintain the integrity of the original design and performance requirements for the radome.
