T -- PRINTING SOL Program: 3358-S POC Printing Specialist: Teddy Priebe (757) 873-2800 PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE FROM THE NEWPORT NEWS, VA GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE: POC: Teddy Priebe (757) 873-2800 This notice pertains to a scheduled Pre-Solicitation Conference for a term contract of an Internet based, interactive ordering system for various promotional items (examples: coffee cups, pens, pencils, t-shirts, water bottles, etc.) in support of the U.S. Army Cadet Command. The conference is intended for Providers / Manufacturers of multiple promotional items, and will take place on February 9th, 1999 beginning at 9:00 A.M. EST. At Ft. Monroe, VA. The Pre-solicitation conference will be conducted for the purpose of discussion regarding: internet web site creation for on-line ordering / integration with existing ROTC web site; data collection / maintenance; geographic scope of support required; production of up to 50 specific promotional items; design work; shipping; and pricing for a Promotional Items Fulfillment Contract. It is projected that $500,000 worth of promotional items will be purchased per year on a web-based "on-line" ordering system with U.S. Army Cadet Command and / or other contractors associated with Cadet Command's web-based marketing and advertising initiatives web site. Prospective contractor's will be required to monitor, support, collect, download, and update data associated with individual or aggregated orders via a web-based ordering system with corresponding catalog system for over 300 sites. This system will require simultaneous access; embedded visual depictions of each promotional item; pricing information (that must be updated based on ordering quantities from 300 Army Cadet Command sites); and ability to group individual orders for both long-term planning and final ordering purposes. Ordering: The 300 plus sites will have combined orders three times a year with final delivery required within 2 months. Security: The proposed web site must have appropriate security measures and capabilities to allow the 300 plus sites to access; update; view all perspective orders. The ordering web page must be developed within ROTC Cadet Commands existing web site. Final approval will rest with commanders requiring security authorizations to view / adjust orders and give vendor final approval for quantities with firm pricing. Maintenance: Upon initial set-up within existing ROTC web site, contractor will be required to provide support and all maintenance as required to insure 24 hour access. Previous Experience: Contractors wishing to bid on this contract will be required to demonstrate current / previous experience successfully administering an Internet based interactive (on-line) ordering system.
