Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials Directorate (AFRL/MLPJ), solicits research proposals to conduct STARING SYSTEMS HARDENING. The purpose of this research and development effort is to develop and demonstrate midwave infrared (MWIR) electro-optical (EO) limiters for damage protection of staring system focal plane arrays (FPAs) applicable for both tactical and space missions. The objective is to optimize these limiters to develop reversible, wide dynamic range, damage protection for MWIR FPAs. They should be designed for a shared focal plane architecture. The specific technical requirements, optical performance parameters, and other areas of primary concern will be specified at the pre-proposal conference (see additional information).
