Svc. 718-630-3581 Architect-Engineering firm to provide all necessaty A/E servics for the development of conceptual drawings, design development drawings and construction documents for Project #527-321. A/E shall assist in the evaluation of the hospital (located at 800 Poly Place, Brooklyn, NY)functional operation plan for the ground floor, Bld. 1. Specifics: (A) Complete renovation of the ground floor southeast space to create a fully functional environmenet for radiation therapy; Work includes but is not limited to a new reception and waiting space, examination rooms, dressing rooms, storage rooms, file rooms, toilets, etc. as required to comply with VA design criterias, and in compliance with patient privacy standands and ADA requirements: (B) Develop construction documents for the balance of the vacated Bldg. 1 spaces as determined by the Hospital engineer: (C) Modification/replacement of existing HVAC system, plumbing, electric, lighting, security, asbestos abatement, etc.: (D) The construction documents shall incorporate all necessary construction phasing as required to implement the construction: (E) The VA standards, details and specifications shall be used for the preparation of design documents; H-08-3 VA construction standards, VA H-08-4 Vol. I -- Vol. IV (Bldg. systems) VA H-08-9 planning criteria, HVAC design standards: (F) All design shall conform to NFPA 101 life safety code, NFPA 99 health care facilities, NEC, etc: (G) Provide a detailed cost estimate for the project at the completion of conceptual design, design developmenet, 60% construction documents and 100% construction documents: (H) The A/E shall have access to all available "as-built" drawings -- 1. Mechanical, 2. Plumbing, 3. Elelctrical, 4. Structural, 5. Architectural, 6. Asbestos survey: (I) A/E construction period servics during construction and site inspections are required for this project. Area of consideration is restricted to firms located within a 50 mile radius of VA Medical Center, 800 Poly Place, Brooklyn, NY. Estimated construction range is between $2 million and $5 million dollars. Selection criteria to be used in selecting firms shall be as outlined in FAR 36-602-1 and will include but is not limited to: a) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of the requireid servic: b) Examples of specialized experience and technical competence in the various disciples required for the specific project: (c)Past job experience and performance on Goverment contracts and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedule: d) Location of the firm or working office providing professional services, including consultants, within a 50 mile radius of the project site: e) Qualifications and performance of sub-consultants proposed for the project: f) Computer capabilities.
