The contractor shall provide environmental assessment and/or remediation services at these locations: military fuel storage and transportation facilities at Anchorage, AK and Whittier, AK. Included is the Indian Booster Pump Station on the Whittier to Anchorage fuel pipeline, and the pipeline from the MAPCO Refinery in North Pole, AK to Eielson Air Force Base. In addition to assessment and remediation, the contractor will provide rapid response services to the only facility still in operation, the MAPCO to Eielson AFB Pipeline, to minimize contamination of the soil, air, surface water, and groundwater environment during fuel spills related to transportation activities occurring due to accidents or equipment/material failure.
