This is a combined synopsis/Request for Quotation (RFQ) for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is issued as an invitation to submit Request for Quotation (RFQ) for AT&T Model 1100 STU III (voice & data); Qty 28. These STU IIIs will be used to provide secure communication capabilities to deployed units using a deployable communication system. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-10. This acquisition is 100% small business set-aside. If inadequate responses are received from small businesses, the solicitation will be issued as unrestricted without further notice. The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) is 4813 and the Small Business Size Standard is1,500. Responses to this RFQ must be received not later than 17 Feb 99, 1200 noon EST. Delivery and Payment locations will be provided upon award. The provision at 52.212.1, Instructions to Offerors_Commercial, and any addenda to the provision applies to this acquisition. Award will be based upon price and other factors in accordance with FAR Clause 52.212-2 and as specified in descending order of importance: (1) Offerors_ ability to obtain, manufacture or provide and deliver required equipment.
