Crank, Contract Specialist, 202-942-3541 Description: The FDIC is seeking sources to indicate interest in providing wireless communications equipment and service for FDIC "mobile workers" throughout the United States. Services to be provided include, but are not limited to, voice calls and related features such as voice mail, call forwarding, three-way calling and caller ID, as well as numerical and text messaging. Background: The FDIC has a significant number of employees who require two-way, immediate communications outside of business hours, who travel continually or who work from non-FDIC locations. The number of "mobile workers" is increasing each year. FDIC mobile workers currently use a mixture of analog and digital cellular telephone service. The cellular service, as well as the equipment used, varies in availability, reliability and cost depending on location and provider. It is difficult to resolve service problems because of the number of providers involved. Requirements: The wireless equipment and service should meet the following requirements: (1) All services and features should be delivered over a single instrument or devise. (2) The service must be reliable, ubiquitous and make use of current technologies. (3) The service must facilitate the implementation of new applications and be capable of incorporating technology advancements. (4) The vendor must provide a single, nationwide account with a single point of contact for all aspects of the service. (5) The vendor must provide identical rates throughout the United States.
