The Unmanned Ground Vehicles/Systems Joint Project Office (UGV/S JPO)
will host a vendor conference concerning the RCSS (L) W/Trailer
system. The RCSS (L) features a rotary chain flail head as the primary
attachment for the purpose of Anti-Personnel (AP) mine clearing and
proofing; hand-held line-of-sight (LOS) radio using government-assigned
radio frequency band; 24-volt electrical system; armor-capable
protection; removable tracks; heavy-fuel engine; and attachable
hydraulic and hand-operated construction tools including tamper, post
picket driver, and wire shears. The trailer system is to be restricted
to RaytheonElectrospace Systems Inc., High Mobility Trailer (HMT)
Light, P/N 124S0002. This is the only trailer authorized for use with
the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV). The UGV/S JPO
will conduct an RCSS (L) vendor conference on 02-03 Mar 99, 9:00 A.M.
-- 4:00 P.M. each day. The purpose of the conference is to allow
contractor personnel who intend to bid on future RCSS (L) requirements
to view existing representative hardware located at Building 3221,
Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898. During the Vendor Conference, the UGV/S JPO
will provide a "Draft" Specification of the RCSS (L) system and Level
II Technical Data Package drawings of the current Flail Head design for
information purposes only. Contractors will be allowed to photograph
the existing hardware, take measurements, and view existing components.
Representatives from the UGV/S JPO who have had "hands-on" experience
with the representative prototype hardware system formerly known as the
Product Improved Mini Flail will be available to field questions during
the vendor conference. All questions and answers that can be provided
during the vendor conference will be provided to all contractors who
attend and, upon request, to contractors who do not attend. At no time
during the vendor conference will sensitive acquisition information be
provided to any contractor. All contractors who plan to attend the RCSS
(L) conference should notify the Contracting Officer of their intention
of attending this conference. All contractors planning to attend the
RCSS (L) vendor conference will be responsible for obtaining individual
vehicle clearances at the gate. Foreign Nationals will be excluded from
participating in the RCSS (L) vendor conference. All contractors
planning on participating in the conference must notify the Contracting
Officer in writing on or before 19 Feb 99 of the number of employees
attending, and their names. Due to limited space at the UGV/S JPO,
contractors attending the vendors conference are requested to limit the
number of employees to not more than three individuals. Notification

ATTN: Shirley Hill. Attendance at the vendors conference will be wholly
at the contractors' expense. Contractors responding to this CBD
announcement will not be reimbursed by the government nor will this
provide any advantage/disadvantage to those who elect/elect not to
respond. Any future solicitation or acquisition of the RCSS-L will be
