cdelasco@email.usps.gov. The U. S. Postal Service is soliciting
proposals to construct a new USPS-owned customer service facility on a
six-plus acre site on Camp St. in Stamford, CT, hereinafter referred
to as Springdale Station. Work includes, but is not limited to,
constructing a single-story frame and masonry building of 50,980 sf,
with timber piles, conrete pile caps, grade beam and supported concrete
floor slab, structural steel, roof membrane, masonry, interior
finishes, electrical and mechanical, and other related work. The site
work includes handling contaminated soil and groundwater. The estimated
cost of the work is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00, with
completion within three hundred sixty-five (365) calendar days after
receipt of notice to proceed. Sealed offers will be received in this
office prior to, but no later than, 4:00 p.m. on March 9, 1999. Award
of the contract will be based on price and other factors. Offerors will
be required to submit a qualification statement as part of the
evaluation process. Offers will not be publicly opened. The number of
offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any offer,
or relative standing of the offerors WILL NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANYONE
until award of contract is made. Proposal documents, plans,
specifications and qualification statements will be available o/a
February 4, 1999 at a cost of $150.00 per set (non-refundable) from the
Facilities Service Office, U. S. Postal Service, 6 Griffin Road North,
Windsor, CT 06006-0300. Certified checks or money orders only will be
accepted, made payable to the Disbursing Officer, U. S. Postal Service
(Reference Solicitation No. 082530-99-A-0059). Plans may be inspected
at the issuing office and information regarding their availability may
be obtained by contacting Catherine Delasco at (860) 285-7191.
Questions concerning the technical aspects of the proposal should be

preproposal conference for this project on Wednesday, February 17, 1999
at 11:00 a.m.at the Stamford Twin Rinks at 1063 Hope St. in the large
party room. Prospective offerors are encouraged to attend. Offerors
