This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items or services prepared in accordance with format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued Request for Quotation (RFQ No. NIA-99-JCC008). The solicitation clause and provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-06. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 3826 and will be utilized for this 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. NIH/NIA Gerontology Research Center(GRC) intends to purchase one (1) Array System capable of producing cDNA probe arrays. Must have a minimum of 96 plate capacity and 36 standard microscope slide capacity with a standard spot size of 150 micron diameter. In addition system must include computer processing capability, vacuum pump and sonicating wash station. On-site installation and training is also to be provided. The following factors will be used to evaluate offers in descending order of importance: 1) technical capability of item offered to meet the government's requirements, 2) price, 3) past performance.
