The General Services Administration, Federal Technology Service, Region 8, Denver and its client, U.S. Army Medical Information Systems and Services Agency-USAMISSA (Provisional), San Antonio, Texas intend to procure on a Sole Source basis from Systems Plus, Inc., Suite 270, 1370 Piccard Drive, Rockville, MD 20850 (301) 948-4232, the following items: 24-each, Model DS-RZ1EF-VW, 18.2GB UltraSCSI Drive; 1-each, Model DS-HS35X-BD, Duel External Cache Battery; and 1-each, Model FP-S1112-36, Priority Digital Priority Service Package for 18.2GB UltraSCSI Drives. Delivery 5-10 days ARO. SIC 5045 -- 100 employees. A SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED as a result of this notice. Only one order will be issued for this requirement, no partials. PURPOSE: The 18.2GB UntraSCSI Drives and Cable Battery are needed to support upgrade of NT Servers at USAMISSA, Fort Detrick, MD. Because smaller drives were originally ordered and found to be incorrect, Systems Plus will exchange these drives for the proper size. IMPACT: Without items, the NT Exchange Servers will be unable to support the system as originally intended. This will also give the servers at Fort Detrick the sam capability as the ones purchased for the rest of the USAMISSA -- San Antonio, being fielded world-wide in support of the NT Exchange project. JUSTIFICATION FOR OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION: The original systems were originally purchased from Systems Plus. They will issue the government a credit for the return of the smaller SCSI drives with no additional cost for shipping; it is to the government's advantage to purchase the larger SCSI drives from Systems Plus. Concerns having the ability to furnish the above supplies/services are requested to give written notification (including the telephone number for a point of contact) to the acquiring office listed in this notice within 15-calendar (est February 22, 1999) from the date of this synopsis. Any notification should clearly show their ability to do so without compromising the quality, accuracy and reliability of the requirement. This is not a formal solicitation for quotes or pricing. However, concerns that respond should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities and may request a copy of any solicitation if it becomes available.
