The Portland VA Medical Center (PVAMC) located at 3710 SW U.S. Veterans Hospital Road, Portland, Oregon, wishes to award firm fixed price indefinite quantity contracts for the services of respiratory therapists to provide back-up coverage. Approximately 1-2 shifts per week will be required upon contract award. On occasion continuous coverage may be purchased to cover a need during the recruitment process of PVAMC staff or as a result of an unplanned absence. It is anticipated that the number of shifts purchased will decrease during the term of the contract. Contract respiratory therapists must be certified as a Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician or a Registered Respiratory Therapist. The therapist must have a minimum of one year current experience in the area of assignment, e.g.., critical care. Evaluation criteria are described in the solicitation. It is expected that the contract offer will be made during the first part of March, 1999. Orders will be placed on an as needed basis upon award. A commercial item request for quotation will be issued on or about February 9, 1999. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered. Proposals will be due by 4 p.m. March 4, 1999. This is a negotiated procurement; there will be no public bid opening.
