Purpose: To obtain Depot Level Interim Contractor Support for the Prime Mission Equipment (PME) subsystems applicable to the E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS) aircraft. The contract will include a Basic one-year period and one six-month option. This interim contract is required to ensure repair support coverage until implementation of the total system support responsibility (TSSR) strategy outlined in the WR-ALC letter regarding Joint STARS Integrated Support, dated 17 December 1998. The Interim Contractor Support includes, but is not limited to, organizational and depot level support of the PME. This support includes organizational technical support; depot level repair; program management service; storage and management of contractor acquired property; and Field Service Representative (FSR) support at the main operating base and deployed locations. The intent is to award this contract to Grumman Aerospace Corp, Melbourne FL 32902-9650, pursuant to authority in 10 U.S.C.2304(C)(1). Justification: Supplies and/or services required are available from only one responsible source that will satisfy agency requirements. The approximate issue date will be 1 Mar 1999. The anticipated award date will be 29 Oct 1999. Please respond through written procedure via electronic means. No telephone requests will be accepted. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal or quotation which shall be considered. This acquisition does involve technology that has a military or space application. The only US contractors who may participate are those that are certified and registered with DLSC and have a legitimate business purpose. US contractors must submit a copy of their current, approved DD Form 2345 with their request for solicitation.
