ARMY GROUND VEHICLE SURVIVABILITY SYMPOSIUM, March 29 -April 1, 1999,
Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA. This entire symposium on
combat and tactical vehicles is classified up to and including SECRET
US ONLY. The Symposium is significant because of recent progress made
in critical survivability technologies and in the military utilization
of these technologies. The symposium will provide a setting for
discussion of the implications of this technology on the modern
battlefield, their relationship to the Army's Tactics and Doctrines,
and the effects these new technologies have on ground combat vehicle
designs. Speakers will include Major General Roy E. Beauchamp,
Commanding General, US Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command;
Major General John F. Michitsch, Program Executive Officer, Ground
Combat Support Systems; Major General Daniel R.Zanini, Deputy Chief of
Staff for Combat Developments, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine
Command, Mr. Brian M. Simmons, Deputy to the Commander, US Army Test
and Evaluation Command and Mr. Peter C. Woglom, Vice President and
General Manager, United Defense. Sessions will be conducted on Threat,
Lightweight Armor/Mine Protection Development & Applications,
Countermeasure Development and Assessment, Light Armor Design and
Application, Analysis and Modeling, Energetic Armor Technology, Active
Protection Technology, Survivability Modeling & Analysis and Damage
