following components: A. Prebuncher (1) operating frequency 1282.8 Mhz
(2) operating temperature 40 degrees celsius (30 to include RF coupler
to extract RF power fro Klystron #1, and phase adjuster. B. Injection
focusing magnets C. Accelerator sections (2 ea) 1. operating frequency
1282.8 Mhz 2. operating temperature 40 degrees celsius 3. RF input
power 30 Mw (each section) 4. Maximum beam energy 30 MeV (with 2
sections) 5. Peak beam current in transient mode (10 to 50 nanoseconds)
20A and 6. Beam current in steady state mode (t0 100 microseconds) 1A
at 15 MeV (with 2 sections) D. RF windows (4 ea) E. Helmholtz focusing
coils (as required) F. Eam energy analyzer and bending magnet (1)
capable of 5 MeV to 30 MeV beam energy range G. Beam exit port windows
H. Beam current monitors (2 ea) The following items will be furnished

couplers for power and VSWR monitoring 4. Arc monitors at accelerator

supplies for helmholtz coils, steering magnets, and focusing magnets.
8. Support structure Delivery: 180 days after receipt of order The
approximate issue/response date will be 25 FEB 1999. No telephone
requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the
requestor are acceptable. All responsible sources solicited may submit
a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. An Ombudsman
has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential
offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The
purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the
program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor,
concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate
government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain
strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman
does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source
