amendment to combined synopsis/solicitation N66604-R-0839 published on
1/28/99 for Unison Information Systems RAID I/O FLYER II DISK STORAGE
DEVICES. The closing date is 02/16/99 and delivery will be expected
2/27/99 or ten days after award. The Defense Priorities and Allocations
System (DPAS) rating is deleted. This amendment also addresses more
questions from potential offerors. Question 5: What Operating System
will control the storage devices? Answer: HP-UX. Question 6: Do you
require 100GB minimum storage for each of the five disk storage
devices? Answer: We require 500GB minimum storage but it does not have
to be five separate storage devices. It can be one storage device with
the capacity of 500GB. Question 7: Are all devices intended for
installation at NUWCDIVNPT whether it be five separate devices or one?
Answer: Yes. Question 8: Are five-meter cables sufficient? Answer:
Yes. Question 9: Is one channel sufficient for your application?
Answer: Yes. Question 10: Is "16MB cache minimum" sufficient for your
application? Answer: Yes. Question 11: Is expansion required for these
RAID systems? Answer: No. Question 12: What is the desired data rate
transfer? Answer: Maximum rate 35MB/second, no specific requirement for
burst or sustained rates. Question 13: What application are you
running? Answer: The storage devices will be used to store large data
files that will be the output of a C program. Our department no longer
issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Instead, they may be
