99 -- GRAVEL ROCK SOL RFQ-99-024(EM) DUE 021999 POC Elida Monroe, Contracting Officer, 503-231-6188 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The solicitation number is FWS1-99-024(EM) for this Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-07. Standard Industrial Classification Code 1442 applies. **Provide your written quotations for the following item. Ten thousand (10,000) tons of 1 1/4" minus base course gravel, (1 1/4" crushed, Washington State Department of Transportation specifications 4-04 ballast and crushed surfacing), Base course material only. The work to be performed shall involve the hauling, tailgate spreading, and purchase of gravel for an eight (8) mile road surfacing project along the 1200 road and access road near Gate 117 of the Arid Lands Ecology Reserve. All excess material not used for the road surfacing project is to be stockpiled at a predetermined site located within very close proximity of the project. The amount of material needed for the project includes a stockpile of material for future maintenance of the road is estimated at approximately 10,000 tons. The material is described as 1 1/4 inch crushed washed gravel (1-1/4 inch crushed, Washington State Department of Transportation specifications, base course material). The gravel transport trucks would enter Gate 106 and exit at Gate 117. It is anticipated the project would take a week to complete using dump trucks with pup trailers to minimize the number of trips to the site. Offerors shall also be responsible for submitting all additional information on the above product necessary for the Government to Determine whether the product offered meets fair and reasonable price.
