Under authority granted in FAR 6.302-1, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency intends to seek a quotation on a sole source basis from TSI, Incorporated for one Electrical Low Pressure Impactor. The Electrical Low Pressure impactor will be used to support research to identify and characterize the indoor sources for fine particulate matters (PM). A particle counting device is needed to determine the particle size distribution in the indoor air. The Government's minimum requirements for this device are as follows: provide continuous, real-time readings in the size range between .05 and 5 m; have no less than 10 channels (stages); an operation temperature of 10 to 35 degrees centigrade; a response time of 10s; unit weight <35 kg (77 lb.); and capable of collecting, measured particles on filters for further analysis. This procurement will be accomplished under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements or submit quotations. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations.
