ELMENDORF AFB, ALASKA HAS A REQUIREMENT to purchase 1 EACH, Causeway or Floating Dock large enough to safely moor 3 LCM-8 Vessels in Annette Bay. LCM-8 dimensions: LOA -74'6", width: 21'1", Displacement: 107 tons, Max Draft -- 4' 3". Causeway must be serviceable and seaworthy to withstand winds in excess of 50 knots and the severe weather conditions for the area. Need adequate tie downs and decking to accommodate foot traffic, dollies and general cargo. Timbers should be treated and spaced for drainage. Steel must be painted and protected with zinc bars. All bolted connections should be counter-bored. Require 5 year warranty for emplacement, construction, workmanship and paint. Locate adequate mooring site suitable for above vessels and anchor/emplace the causeway into Annette Bay. Site must not hinder navigation to the barge landing at the base camp in Annette Bay. Emplacement must be sufficient to last a minimum of 5 years. USCG will provide sinkers and bouy chain, identified by contractor to meetthis subject requirement. Contractor/vendor is responsible for pickup of chain and sinkers from USCG. REQUIRED DELIVERY (INSTALLED & OPERATIONAL) NLT 24 MAR 1999. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for Commercial Items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
