Materials & Equipment necessary to remove the wreck of a fishing vessel
located on Great Ledge outside Woods Hole Harbor, Massachusetts
(Reference NOAA chart #13235). The wreck is the remains of a 67-foot,
wooden hull fishing vessel (i.e. clam dredge). The hull of the vessel
has been broken up and dispersed. The remaining portions of the wreck
are metal and consist of the main mast and support rigging, the keel,
and engine block, clam cages, transverse and longitudinal framing and
shell plating. A portion of the main mast and supporting rigging are
exposed a high tide. The remains of the wreck are within an area
approximately 75 feet by 150 feet. The water depth in the area ranges
from 5-15 feet below Mean Lower Low Water. The area is open and exposed
to the wind and weather events and tidal currents can exceed 5 knots.
The proposed work involves removing the remains of the wreck and
disposing of it in an appropriate land based disposal site. Estimated
cost of the project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Plans and
