This project is to provide approximately 505 maintenance miles of road maintenance on various Forest roads located on the Thorne Bay and Craig Ranger Districts on Prince of Wales Island, Southeast Alaska. The maintenance work to be performed shall include grading, shaping, and rolling of road travelways, shoulders, removal of minor sloughing from ditchline, and vibratory rolling. No scarifying or ripping shall be required. The contractor shall furnish all equipment, labor, transportation, equipment repairs and maintenance, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to perform the work. Prince of Wales Island can only be reached by barge, float plane or by the Alaska Marine Highway (ferry) system. The various roads are to be bladed several times during the year.) The blading times vary from road to road. Contract time is 365 calendar days. The contract will include an option for 1 additional year of service.
