The Bureau of Reclamation has a requirement for the repairing, reinsulating, and testing of 288 field poles on three horizontal-axis hydro generator units located at the Headgate Rock Dam Powerplant in Parker, Arizona. The units are rated 4160 V, 7.222 kVa, at 0.9 power factor. Each generator has a static excitation system connected through collector rings to the field windings. The excitation system is rated 360 VDC, 200 kW, 550 A. The collector ring voltage and current required to achieve rated kW output is 231 VDC, and 479 A. The work for this project is being acquired under the commercial item authority in Part 13 of the FAR. The estimated issuance date of the solicitation is February 24, 1999. The estimated date for receipt of quotes is March 16, 1999. For this acquisition the standard industrial classification code is 3621 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees.
