695-6225, ext. 2525 Headquarters, Marine Corps (HQMC) is interested in
your comments regarding the provision of food service support to the
United States Marine Corps at various Bases/Stations located on the
east and west coasts of the continental United States and Hawaii. The
Marine Corps intends to establish two (2) regional garrison messhall
contracts, one (1) for east coast bases and one (1) for the west coast
bases. The Contractor would provide food service management, food
preparation and janitorial functions at a number of our garrison
locations. These 2 contracts will involve a total of fifty-four (54)
garrison Marine Corps messhall preparing and serving in excess of
twenty-nine (29) million meals annually. Thirty-two (32) messhalls are
located on the east coast, twenty-one (21) on the west coast and one
(1) messhall in Hawaii. Twenty-three (23) of the 54 messhalls will be
full food service (FFS) operations which relates to preparing and
serving nearly nine (9) million meals annually. Twenty-four (24)
messhalls will require messhall operations management and janitorial
(M&J) services supporting and serving over twelve (12) million meals
annually. Finally, seven (7) messhalls will require messhall operations
management and food preparation (M&FP) services (no janitorial services
required) servicing in excess of eight (8) million meals annually. The
Government wants to learn how industry would propose to service Marine
Corps bases on a regional basis. In this regard Marine Corps will
entertain any and all suggestions regarding advanced food service
preparation methodologies and technologies to maximize food service
support efficiencies and savings. Therefore, you are encouraged to
submit any concepts, ideas and suggestions that you have in mind. The
Marine Corps will not reimburse the respondent for any costs associated
with information submitted and is under no obligation to award any
related contract associated with this RFI. All requests to this RFI
shall be submitted in writing to Installation and Logistics department
(LB), Headquarters, United States Marine Corps, 2 Navy Annex,
Washington, DC 20380-1775, Attn: Mr. Paul Sando. It is anticipated that
responses to the RFI will be due no later than March 20, l999. Posted
