Veterans Affairs Upstate New York VA Healthcare Network (VISN 2) is
seeking to consolidate its paging and cell phone requirements to a
provider or providers who will offer the best value to the government,
technical and price factors considered. VISN 2 is a Government
healthcare organization consisting of six VA Facilities and one
administrative building which serves as its headquarters. Currently,
several provider agreements for paging and cell phone services are
being used by government personnel depending upon their location of
employment within VISN 2. Prospective offerors will be required to
assess the pager and cell phone needs throughout VISN 2 and provide a
comprehensive proposal which will result in the most efficient and cost
effective means for providing these services, inclusive of equipment,
maintenance, parts, batteries, replacement equipment and other
supplies. The general scope of pager services for VISN 2 include
on-campus, local, regional, and national paging using acombination of
various types of pagers, including digital, voice, and alphanumeric.
Pager system must offer interface software to existing VISN 2 Computer
System for capability to access pagers by way of PCs Minimum pager
performance requirements shall include, but are not limited to;
possessing high-tone output, variable volume control, clear audio
output, long life battery, low battery indicator, built-in speaker,
message time and date display, message playback, out-if-range
indicator, capability to hold messages when turned off, have vibrating
or beep call capabilities (or equivalent), and priority queue
sequencing for group call numbers. Standard Industrial (SIC) Code for
