This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared
in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6 format; as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only request for quotation. Proposals are being
requested and a written quotation will not be issued. This request
incorporates the provisions and clauses in effect thru Federal Circular
97-10. Item 1: Microlab 4200/mph -- 8 Robotic Pipetting System which
includes: 4200 base instrument; deck kit for microplates; (8) each of:
PSD -2 precision syringe drive modules; valves for PSD -- 2 modules;
syringes for PSD -- 2 modules. Mph head assembly and wash station; 8
probes w/FEP Teflon tubing and fittings; mph reagent kit w/25 & 100 ml
tubs. ArcNet PC interface card & cable; PlateMaker TM system control
software; power cord and operation manual. System probes are not
disposable and have a fixed spacing 9 mm between probes. Upgrade to a
minimum of 12 probes. Able to deliver submicroliter volumes and move
the arm in either the x,y, or z axis to wick the droplets off the
probes. Must be user friendly with Windows 95 or Windows NT operating
system. Must hold at least 30 plates on the instrument at one time.
Ability to orientate the probe head so it is parallel with the x or y
axis. Ability to replace the deck easily so other applications can be
placed on the unit for future expansion. Have a positional accuracy of
0.1mm for working in high density plate formats such as 384 plate.
Optional Robotic Components: One Peristaltic Pump Module (p/n -- 3744
-- 01 to include tubing & fittings installed on system). Optional
Control system: One for operations of Microlab Robotic Pipetting System
(p/n -- 77161). On-site installation and one day of training. Warranty:
one year, including parts, technician labor and travel expense, from
date of system installation. Must be manufactured in United States.
Delivery Terms: 60 days ARO/FOB Destination, USDA-Forest Service, North
Central Research Station, Department of Forestry and Natural Resources;
