D -- AUXILIARY MACHINERY SPACE MONITORING SYSTEM SOL DTCG85-99-R-625235 POC Linda Nanbu, Contracting Officer, (510)437-3390 Provide and install a prototype auxiliary machinery space monitoring system for US Coast Guard high endurance cutters, which includes 46 transducers, necessary modules or interfaces, and a computer terminal with a Windows NT 4.0 operating system. The system is to be used solely for monitoring the air conditioning and refrigeration plants, but shall have the capability to be expanded to include capturing data for other machinery equipment. The primary focus is to electronically monitor compressor equipment in three aux. machinery spaces, one freezer space and one chiller space. These spaces consist of 44 data points, which consist of 30 pressure points measured in pounds per square inch gauge and 14 temperature points measured in degrees fahrenheit. Data points shall be converted to 4-20 mA signals in a locally mounted remote signal interface (RSI). Data from the RSI shall be carried to the main control room, where data points will be displayed real time on a systems computer in graphics form and other real time data. A firm-fixed-price contract for one installation, with options for up to an additional eleven installations over four years is contemplated.
