Labor, Employment and Training Administration (DOL/ETA) is soliciting
proposals to select a contractor to provide technical assistance for
the continued TECHNICAL ADVANCEMENT AND ENRICHMENT OF THE OCCUPATIONAL
INFORMATION NETWORK (O*NET). This is a national initiative to
establish O*NET throughout the United States as a viable, operational
tool linking our education, training and employment communities
together through the use of a common occupational language and system.
The two primary objectives of this initiative are as follows: (1)
Participate in a review of the current information system to determine
new and improved strategies for technical advancement. (2) Facilitate
the integration of O*NET into the employment and training community.
The period of performance for the prospective award will be twelve (12)
months from the date of execution of the contract by the Government
plus two (2) 1-year options to extend at the discretion of the
Government. This requirement is let under 100% Small Business
Set-aside. The SIC Code is 7379 and the Size Standard is $18 million.
Request for proposals are available on the Department of Labor,
Employment and Training Administration's Home Page approximately 15
days from this publication. Request for proposals in hard copy form
will be available at the same time on a first come, first served basis,
until the supply is exhausted. Telephone requests will not be honored.
For request made after the supply is exhausted, the Contracting
Officer will determine whether payment of a fee is warranted. Closing
date for receipt of proposals is April 14, 1999 at 2:00 P.M. Local
Time. Request for proposals must cite RFP-DCS-99-24 and include two
self addressed labels. Failure to enclose labels may cause delays in
