This acquisition is for all services and materials to include non-recurring engineering, shelter integration, installation and test to incorporate a high speed multiplexing data capability into 17 AN/TTC-56(V1) Single Shelter Switch (SSS) (and option for up to an additional 13) currently being developed and manufactured by GTE under Contract DAAB07-97-C-F759. This capability will enable the SSS to effectively distribute video and high speed data. It is a sole source acquistion to modify Contract DAAB07-97-C-F759 through negotiations with GTE Government Systems Corporation, Taunton, MA in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), FAR 6.302-1(b)(1), Only One Responsible Source. The government does not own the full technical documentation and data rights for the switching technology required for the SSS.
