Laboratory (NRL) has a requirement for research and development support
expertise for (a) beta software currently in prototype use by the
airline industry and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), (b)
development of information sharing, simulation, and visualization
tools, and (c) for improvements in the National Airspace System (NAS).
This requirement (a) investigates and develops algorithms, expands and
improve Air Traffic Control decision aids, (b) develop airspace usage
simulation and decision aids, and (c) constructs data analysis and
simulation tools to enable the FAA to identify areas within the NAS
requiring improvements. The current incumbent is Metron Inc., 11911
Freedom Drive, Suite 800, Reston, Virginia 20190. A Cost Plus Fixed Fee
(Term) contract is anticipated for award. The estimated number of hours
for this contract is 170,480. The period of performance is four (4)
years. The solicitation will close approximately thirty (30) days after
issuance of Request for Proposal (RFP). All responsible sources may
submit an offer, which shall be considered. Numbered Note 26 applies.
