COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 16,1999 PSA#2283SMART WEAPONS TRAINING COURSE The Guidance and Control Information
Analysis Center (GACIAC) will conduct a three-day Smart Weapons
Training Course at the Defense Technical Information Center at Fort
Belvoir, Virginia on Tuesday through Thursday, March 25-27, 1999.

Army, Air Force, and Navy smart weapon systems fielded or under
development will be covered. The AMC Smart Weapons Management Office
(AMC-SWMO) and the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) sponsor
the course, which is taught by the GACIAC contractor, IIT Research
Institute. This seminar will provide a single source of information on
specific US.. and foreign smart weapons, to include their development
status, system description, performance characteristics, and
effectiveness. The full gamut of US smart weapon systems will be
covered, to include direct fire, indirect fire, aviation-launched and
ship-launched missiles, rockets, projectiles, and sub-munitions.
Information will be provided on technology base systems and future
concepts. Selected foreign smart systems will be discussed, as well as
future requirements and opportunities. Digitization, joint operations/
requirements, and future smart weapon trends will also be addressed.
This course will benefit anyone interested in gaining an understanding
of critical weapons-related systems, subsystems, and technologies. The
seminar is classified at the SECRET level (US citizens only) and is
open to US government employees and government contractors. To insure
