COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 16,1999 PSA#2283ADDITIONAL VENDOR MEETINGS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY VERIFICATION'S
ADVANCED MONITORING SYSTEMS PILOT The National Exposure Research
Laboratory (NERL), Office of Research and Development (ORD), U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), Research Triangle Park (RTP),
North Carolina 27711, and Battelle, Columbus, Ohio, are partners in an
Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) pilot for Advanced
Monitoring Systems (AMS). The goal of ETV is to verify the performance
characteristics of commercially ready environmental technologies so
potential purchasers and permitters are provided with an independent
and credible assessment of the technology they are buying or
permitting. The AMS pilot is focused on verifying air, water, and soil
monitoring technologies. The AMS pilot's next two vendor meetings will
be held at Battelle's facilities in Columbus, Ohio, February 19 and
26,1999, for vendors with ambient fine particulate air monitors and
turbidimeters, respectively. The purpose of the vendor meetings is to
give technology vendors the opportunity to suggest parameters for
verification testing of theirmonitoring devices and to plan the test
schedules. Vendors with ambient fine particulate monitors and
turbidimeters are invited to join these meetings. For more information
about the AMS pilot and vendor opportunities for technology
verification or to register for these vendor meetings, contact Helen
