The contract is with Cost Management Systems, 301 Maple Avenue West, Tower Bldg., Vienna, VA 22180-4300. This contract was awarded under full and open competition in October 1996 and provides Automated Information Support (AIS) services to BMDO. The staffing increase will cover two months of the existing period of performance and one twelve-month option period which will support the existing completion line item plus a new level of effort line item estimated at 4,000 hours. This on-site staffing increase is required due to faster than anticipated technology systems and equipment changes in the BMDO AIS infrastructure. The modification will be issued on a sole source basis as there is no known source that can provide necessary continuity, comparability of service, response time and cost effectiveness during the periods affected by the new work. BMDO anticipates awarding a successor contract for AIS under full and open competition on or about May 2000.
