SOL 072976-99-A-0078 DUE 031799 POC Project Manager, Bill Tygret, 303.220.6509; Solicitation Admin, Tom Carriere, 303.220.6538 The Denver Facilities Service Office, US Postal Service, is soliciting written expressions of interest from contractors desiring to be placed on a prequalified contractor's list for construction of new postal facilities on USPS leased or owned sites in the State of Alaska. The projects range in size from approximately 10,000 to 30,000 square feet, and estimated construction costs of $3.5M to $9.0M. Construction completion schedules vary from project, location, and time of year, but are usually 8-12 months for construction. The building systems may vary in construction materials/systems, but in general they will consist of either exterior finish and metal studs, CMU, tilt-up concrete with veneer, or a combination thereof; steel structural systems, a single-ply roofing membrane or built up roof. Applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria: (1) five (5) years experience as a prime general contractor; (2) references; (3) successful completion of PROJECTS OF SIMILAR SIZE and SCOPE; (4) valid contractors license for the State of Alaska; (5) proof of financial stability and bonding capacity; (6) current workload and capacity in relation to company resources; (7) small, minority, and woman-owned business subcontracting plan; and (8) geographic location of firms relative to project sites. Prequalification statements will be evaluated by a USPS committee, and only BEST QUALIFIED firms will be selected.
